- They are environmentally conscious. In every hotel I've been in, in order to turn the lights on I need to put my hotel key in a holder. This way when I leave the hotel room and take my key it turns off. (They're also a little ridiculous about the water and electricity consumption. I'm supposed to turn the shower off if I'm shaving and while I'm washing myself/hair. I only turn it on once I need to rinse.)
- They take siestas during the day. I am allll about this.
- It's like Miami, they go out late. Dinner is late, everything is late.
And last..
-There's no such thing as binge drinking here. Since the drinking age is 16 here, it's common for people to have a beer/wine/sangria at all times of the day. I have yet to see a belligerently drunk Spaniard. People here pace themselves and see as no big deal to drink. This is why the drinking age should be changed. Don't let them fool because they can drink you under the table here.
It's nothing like middle america, let alone college students and truthfully I like this better. I can't stand when people in Columbus or other places can't handle themselves when they're drunk. And I don't mean, stumbling, laughing and dancing but being full blown idiots. My biggest pet peeve? When girls take their shoes off when they're out. NO. You are to keep those on no matter how bad your feet hurt.
You stay classy, America.
