You can never truthfully appreciate art if you don’t see an iconic piece like a Picasso or Dali in person.
Standing by a real Salvador Dali. Nbd.
Today, we went to the Museo del Prado and Sofia Reina Museum and we had the most amazing tour guide.
He took us to see original paintings from Velazquez, Goya, Greco, Dali and Picasso.
Picasso’s famous ‘Guernica’ is just so much cooler and larger than life in person. I mean it is HUGE and Picasso’s way of expressing emotion, especially dark emotion in these cartoon like characters is brilliant. I would never have the patience or creativity to draw and paint on these huge canvases.
Tonight, Spain played Chile and when we left the hotel the game had started and when Spain scored their first goal people started honking, yelling and waving flags. I couldn’t help but put my fists up and yell ESPANA!
I wish people in the USA cared about the World Cup. Only time I’ve celebrated that is well.. twice when the Marlins (Sorry Indians and Yankees fans) won the World Series, but that’s not a country united.
Tomorrow, we head to Toledo, which I can’t help but pronounce in English every time I read it because of the city in Ohio. Damn.
Truthfully, I’m getting antsy to get to Valencia already and just settle in and stop living out of suitcases. Since February, I’ve been in and out of 6 hotels. Ugh.
